About this Ketubah Original Text Style Orthodox Aramaic (Click here to view entire wording) Font Style The font in this piece is an exact copy of the font that was originally hand written by Tami and was especially created for this Ketubah. Design
The focus of this Ketubah is the Lily Flower. It is set in a Kiddush cup that is stepped on beneath the Chuppa, symbolizing the destruction of the Temple. The wall through which Jerusalem can be seen is broached because a new Temple is yet to be built. The central flame of the Menorah illuminates the scene. The Tree of Life appears in the background, with the sun rising on a bright future.
A collage of scenes from Jerusalem talks about coexistence and the hope for peace. On the left, the Tree of Life with the center light of the Menorah and on the right - 2 Shabbat candles.
The wedding canopy winds through the whole, drawing the pieces together and integrating them. On the bottom or the piece is a Magen David with the initials of the bride and groom in its centre. Both sides are inscribed with the words, "Mazal Tov". The Magen David consists of blossoming apple branches, symbolic of the Tree of Knowledge, pertaining to the knowledge that comes with marriage.
To further enhance this theme, we have an apple with poetic vows that translate as follows:
Affirming our people's covenant with God
May we be consecrated to each other with this ring.
Let our lives be intertwined forever,
  Let our hearts be united
  In faith and in hope.
  Let our home be rich
  With wisdom and reverence.
Limitless is my love for you
  And my devotion without end.
