About this Ketubah Original Text Style Reform Egalitarian (Click here to view entire wording) Font Style The font in this piece is an exact copy of the font that was originally hand written by Tami and was especially created for this Ketubah. Design
The text is oval-shaped to symbolize eternity. It is framed by a golden ring with a Magen David on top of it. The name of this piece is derived from this part of the Ketubah.
The flowers are water lilies, daisies, and gladiolas. They embellish the right side of the oval. On the left are to be found the grains: millet, barley, and wheat, representing bread, the basis for sustenance.
There are two lovebirds on the upper left of the piece. One of them is holding the bridal canopy, which meanders through the whole piece. The other bird is perched on a branch of the Tree of Life, which is representative of the Torah.
The Shabbat candles, which symbolize a Jewish home, are at the top of the piece. The word "Lechaim" in gold lettering frames the piece on the bottom.
