About this Ketubah Original Text Style Orthodox Aramaic (Click here to view entire wording) Font Style The font in this piece is an exact copy of the font that was originally hand written by Tami and was especially created for this Ketubah. Design
This Ketubah is framed by a gate on which is inscribed the sentence, "This is the gate of the Lord through which the righteous shall tread," as part of the metal ornamentation of the gate.
In the two quarter circle on the bottom of the piece, as the base for the columns carrying the gate, the words “maza-tov” are inscribed.
The letter "bet", the first letter of the Ketubah, which traditionally has been decorated, is painted in gold.
Throughout, the Chuppah canopy intertwines. It continues to weave through scenes of Jerusalem, the Chuppah structure itself, and then is transformed into a carpet for the bride and groom to march upon. The words "If I forget Thee O Jerusalem" are inscribed in the carpet, and words "Be thou my wife" are inscribed in the Chuppah. On the left side of the ext, the Chuppah canopy intertwines through the Tree of Life (which symbolizes the Torah) and wraps the Menorah and the wine cup. The fruit from which the wine is made abundantly fills the cup. The word "Lechaim" is inscribed in the cup.
The sun is rising in the background symbolizing many more new days for the couple, and two love birds fly towards each other above. Festive flowers decorate the piece and a gold wedding ring alluding to the gold ring, encircles the gate in the top centre.
At the bottom centre is the Star of David.
